Job description

Anaya Hotels and Resorts Zanzibar is hiring an Assistant Restaurant Manager to support the overall management of the restaurant's daily operations. This role oversees service standards on the floor, coordinates with kitchen and bar teams, and ensures guests receive consistent, high-quality food and beverage service. Responsibilities include assisting with staff scheduling, training, and performance monitoring; supporting hiring and onboarding; managing guest inquiries and feedback; resolving service issues; implementing initiatives to improve customer satisfaction and revenue; maintaining health, safety, and hygiene standards; monitoring stock and inventory; and supporting budgeting and cost-control processes. Requirements

Strong focus on Customer Satisfaction and Customer Service, with experience in resolving guest issues and maintaining high service standards. Experience in Hiring and supervising staff, including training, performance feedback, and scheduling in a hospitality or restaurant environment. Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with guests, team members, and management. Practical knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, including menu understanding, service procedures, and hygiene standards. Previous experience in restaurant or hotel management, preferably in a supervisory or assistant manager role. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by restaurant operations. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure. Proficiency in basic computer applications and point-of-sale systems; familiarity with hospitality software is an advantage. Professional fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages commonly used by guests in Zanzibar is a plus. Relevant diploma or degree in Hospitality Management, Restaurant Management, or a related field is preferred.
